The meaning behind Willow & Wave

Rooted in Self. Flowing with Life.

The name Willow & Wave was inspired by two elements of nature that reflect my approach to healing and personal growth.

The willow represents our ability to stay grounded in who we are. With strong roots and flexible branches, it reminds us that we can develop inner strength, stability and self-trust while remaining open to life's challenges. Through therapy, we deepen our connection to our authentic Self, cultivate inner safety, and learn to honor our needs, values and boundaries.

The wave represents the ever-changing nature of our emotions and experiences. Our feelings rise and fall, our relationships evolve, and life brings unexpected transitions. Rather than resisting or being overwhelmed, we can learn to navigate them with awareness, flexibility and trust.

Healing means developing both: the strength to remain rooted in ourselves and the flexibility to move with life. Together, they create what I call inner freedom: feeling safe within yourself and free to live fully.

My approach to psychotherapy

Healing Through the Body, Emotions, and Relationships

My approach to therapy recognizes that our thoughts, emotions, bodies, and relationships are deeply connected. I integrate Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Relational Life Therapy (RLT) to help you understand the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, develop a stronger connection to yourself, and create healthier relationships.

Together, we explore what your body and emotions are telling you, understand the protective habits you've developed, and discover new ways of responding to life's challenges. Our work is collaborative, compassionate, and guided by your unique needs and experiences.

Meet Sienna

A Little About Me

Hi, I'm Sienna. For over 20 years, long before I became a therapist, I helped people come home to themselves as a somatic coach, yoga teacher, and retreat leader. Through this work, I developed a deep understanding of the mind-body connection, helping people release patterns of tension, stress, and trauma held in the body. I witnessed how powerful it can be to slow down, listen to our body's wisdom, and tap into our innate capacity for healing. With the right support, people can transform long-held patterns, gain new insights, and experience greater freedom.

This work inspired me to earn my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology and continues to shape how I practice psychotherapy today. I'm a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist at Driftwood Therapy Collective, working with individuals, couples, and groups in Encinitas and by Telehealth across California. I'm also the author of Calm in Any Storm, a guide to simple somatic tools for stress and overwhelm.

I believe you already carry the wisdom and capacity to heal. My role is to offer a warm, steady space where every part of you is welcome, and to walk beside you with curiosity, care, and practical tools, rooted in both science and soul.
